Registration Category Rules & Guidelines
Registration and Fees
- Online registration starts on January 6, 2025
- Online registration deadline is April 19, 2025 at 11:59 pm
- The competition online registration fee is $25 per participant per category
- Fees are subject to a $5 early bird’s discount until Mar 16, 2025
- All fees are non-refundable and non-transferable
- No siblings’ discount will be provided
Participants’ Registration Criteria
- Participants must have one of the following:
- Canadian citizenship
- Canadian permanent resident status
- Canadian refugee status
- Canadian work permit
- Participants can register in more than one category (Memorization, Recitation, and Contemplation)
- Participants cannot participate in more than one level in each category
- All participants (except Hoffaz/Hafizs) can register only in their age level or higher within each category
- Participants must have one of the following:
Special considerations
- Quran memorizers (Hoffaz/Hafizs) are only allowed to participate in the following categories:
- Memorization Category: Hoffaz level only
- Recitation Category: Quraa’ level only
- Hadeeth Category: Their age level or higher
- Contemplation Category: Their age level or higher
- Quran teachers and Imams are not allowed to participate in the competition
- Quran memorizers (Hoffaz/Hafizs) are only allowed to participate in the following categories:
Examination Guidelines
- All exams will be done online on Zoom.
- Each participant will choose a timeslot on a platform that will be communicated by email. Participants cannot examine in a different time slot unless directed by our administration.
- All timinggs slots are communicated in Eastern Standard Time zone (EST).
- All participants are required to turn on their camera and share their screen during their examination.
- No one is allowed to be with the participant in the same room during the examination.
- All examinations will be recorded for quality and promotional purposes.
- Ayaat Foundation reserves the right to publish all recorded videos of the examination and final projects of the contemplation category.
- Judges are not allowed to examine their relatives or any students they teach regularly.
Results Guidelines
- Any participant that scores below 65% will be automatically disqualified.
- The results of the competition are final and non-negotiable.
- If a participant wins in more than one category, he/she will receive only the highest in all prizes (ONE prize).
